Cristina Gustaitis began her formal training with the Indiana University Ballet Theatre in Bloomington, Indiana. She holds a BS in Dance Performance from Ball State University. After graduating with honors in 2011, she relocated to New York where she currently works with Treeline Dance Works and Machine Histrionica Dance as well as various other choreographers throughout the city. Additionally, she has performed and studied abroad in Italy, France, and Sweden. Most recently she has performed as a part of The Brooklyn Dance Festival at BAM Fisher, Booking Dance Festival at Jazz at Lincoln Center, The Hatch Series, American Dance Guild, Dance Astoria!, and the Arizona Dance Festival. As a choreographer her work has been shown at several New York City venues including The Tank, Green Space, and Transpecos.
Cristina has always enjoyed sharing her love of dance and performance with others. She discovered her love for working with children while on faculty at the Hochstein School of Music & Dance in Rochester, NY. She currently teaches creative movement and ballet to children ages 18 months – 10 years as well as adult ballet, contemporary and modern. She has served as a guest teaching and performing artist at Western Illinois University, Grand Canyon University and Glendale Community College.
