Timothy Muniz

Teaching Artist

Born in Brooklyn, New York and holds a BFA in dance, with a minor in music & pre-PT from LIU Brooklyn and was a former principal dancer of the El Puente Dance Ensamble. Timothy has studied and performed with many renowned artists, as such, Afaliah Tribune, Alexandra Beller, Deborah Wingert, Rennie Harres, and more. He is also very well trained in many styles and forms of dance with a keen eye for movement analyzing and choreographing. In 2015, Timothy received the EMIA (Earl Mosley Institute of Arts) Summer Intensive Scholarship Award. In addition to receiving the scholarship he performed in Hearts of Men and Tribute to Dudley Williams directed by Earl Mosley (Diversity of Dance Company). In 2017 Timothy became a guest dancer of Diversity of Dance and performed for lauren Machollister at the Brooklyn Museum Dance festival and in 2018 was a guest dancer for Paul Taylor American Modern Dance Company ( The Second Company). Other works include Donald Byrd, Ron K Brown, Camile A Brown, and Alexandra Beller to name a few. In He had his first choreographed work in 2018 and since then has set & created works on the Phoenix Dance Ensemble, as well as had a premier of his company (Muniz & Makers Dance) at the Tank curated by Mark Andrew Nunez. Other studies include Alexandra Beller/Dances, Movement Research, The Paul Taylor school, The Ailey School, and the School of American Ballet. Timothy Is currently teaching artist with WR Arts and is a dancer freelance dancer (NY Based) as well as the proud artistic director of Muniz & Makers Dance.
