UPDATED COVID•19 Safety Policies & Guidelines

Updated June 2022

IN STUDIO: As of March 7th, 2022 students aged 5 and above may opt out of wearing masks in class if not in programing that services a mixed-age grouping (eg. any 4-6 year old classes). Students aged 5 and above will be allowed to remove their masks while in class, if so they choose.

As of June 2022 Students aged 3 & 4 will no longer be required to remain masked throughout their class time.

IN SCHOOL: Starting Monday, March 7th, 2022 in-school students aged 5 and above (Kindergarten - 12th Grade) may opt-out of wearing masks in class. With our organization servicing students aged 3 - 8 daily after school, we will only allow the removal of masks when not in mixed-age company. Older students will be required to remain masked prior to the start of activity and when returning to any spaces with younger students. As of June 2022, Students aged 3 & 4 will no longer be required to remain masked throughout the full programing day.

Given that dance & singing is such a high-level activity with heavy respiration, we encourage continued use of mask wearing while in the building.

Anyone exhibiting signs of illness (coughing, sneezing, fever, sore throat) no matter their age will be required to wear a mask. If exhibiting symptoms, your child will be given a mask and will observe the remainder of the class seated from a well-ventilated space, while a guardian is contacted for early pick up.

For the time being, our teachers will continue to instruct class with masks on and we will continue to take all safety precautions needed.

As of March of 2020, Masks remain required for entry for all participants aged 2 years and above.

As of September 6th, 2021 all adults and participants aged 12+ must show proof of full vaccination (entry at least two weeks from 2nd vaccination date) prior to participation &/or class instruction. This policy is as mandated by NYC Department of Health and the City of New York and is in accordance with guidelines set for Indoor Fitness centers and High Risk Extracurricular Activities.

On December 6th, 2021 NYC Department of Health expanded COVID-19 Proof of Vaccination to include participants aged 5+

As of December 14th, 2021 WR Arts requires the following of all participants of vaccine-eligible age:

Guardians of participants aged 5+ must provide proof of at least one dose of vaccination prior to start of participation.

Guardians of or participants aged 12+ must provide proof of full vaccination prior to start of participation.

As of January 29th, 2022 participants aged 5 to 11 must also show proof of full vaccination.

Once shown, student accounts will be updated to reflect your student’s vaccination status.

Students who have previously contracted COVID-19 are still required to vaccinate, when able.

Reasonable accommodations are set for disabled participants.

The Flow at 573 Metropolitan…

  • If you’re not feeling well or may have been exposed to COVID-19, please take class VIRTUALLY! Let us know as soon as possible so we may keep you and our community safe. We appreciate your self monitoring of temperature and symptoms but when in doubt, we need you to sit it out/take class online.

  • Please wait outside before class time. The waiting area is effectively closed until further notice. No one will be permitted to wait in the reception area or anywhere else in the building.

  • Students will be escorted from outside to our dancing space by our staff only. With this, ALL DROP OFF STUDENTS MUST COME FULLY DRESSED AND PREPARED TO DANCE; At the end of class, students will then be escorted outside and dismissed directly to a trusted guardian. Students with late guardians will return to our studio space. Late guardians will need to contact us via text/ phone call; Please be considerate and show up EARLY to pick your child up from class.

  • Come well hydrated! Water will only be available by purchase. Students will need to hydrate in advance of class or bring their own water. Length of class time has been adjusted to allow for less need for water & bathroom breaks.

  • No bubble trouble. A 6-foot distance must be maintained at all times. Dancing spaces will be marked off for visual cues.

  • Mask up! Masks or other facial coverings that cover the nose and mouth must be worn upon entering the building and must remain on for both vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals. Students will be permitted to “step out” of an exercise when needed to temporarily de-mask until they feel better. Students with pre-existing medical conditions that make dancing while masked will be handled with extra care.

  • Keeping extra clean. Common areas will be disinfected at the start of each day and then sanitized continuously throughout the day with close attention paid to high-touch areas such as door handles, ballet barres and bathroom spaces. Class times have been staggered to allow for 20 minute studio cleaning time before any additional/ new students are permitted to enter.

  • As always, Hand sanitizer will be available throughout our facility.

  • Our air ventilation system has been serviced and fitted with new filters. Additionally, in-studio air purifiers with HEPA filters have been installed.

  • We’re monitoring our health too! Teachers are equipped with Personal Protective Equipment and cleaning/ disinfectant tools when needed. In advance of studio entry, all faculty & staff are currently monitoring (and reporting) their temperature and are screen via questionnaire before start of their teaching day. Those feeling unwell or potentially exposed to COVID-19, will stay home and may teach from their own space(s).
